β-lactam antibiotics are the most common reason for suspected drug allergy. However, most people labelled as “penicillin allergic” are found not to be truly allergic after specialist evaluation.
An unnecessary allergy label can lead to the use of broader-spectrum, more expensive antibiotics and to antibiotic resistance. Current guidelines (EAACI/ENDA) therefore recommend evaluating suspected patients with skin tests and, where appropriate, a drug provocation test.
Diater's DAP® kits are standardised skin test reagents used in this evaluation:
- DAP® Penicillin — major (PPL) and minor determinants (MD)
- DAP® Amoxicillin
- DAP® Clavulanic acid

These products are intended for use by healthcare professionals only, in centres experienced in drug allergy.
